What changes the price?
Square footage matters, but the larger drivers are the number of data, camera, television, speaker and access-point locations; how difficult the cable paths are; and whether conduit or future-ready spare capacity is included.
What should be prioritized?
Start with the network foundation. Plan wired data for offices and televisions, ceiling locations for Wi-Fi access points, exterior camera paths, the front door, and one organized equipment location. Entertainment wiring and future conduit come next.
Why plan before drywall?
Open framing makes cable routing faster, cleaner and less disruptive. The same pathway can become far harder after insulation, drywall, cabinets and exterior finishes are installed.
How should you get a useful estimate?
Bring a floor plan and walk the property with someone who understands networking, smart-home devices and low-voltage construction. Count actual locations instead of relying on a vague per-square-foot number.
